Our community lost a good one. Many of you know that our friend Benny has been fighting cancer, and he gained his wings.

I’ve known this man for over 30 years — the kind of friend who made sure you got home safe, who looked out for everyone, who carried a heart bigger than most. Truly one of the kindest souls you could ever meet.

SATURDAY JUNE 13th at Blackbeard’s Triple Play in New Bern, we’ll be coming together to honor him the way he deserves. I’ll have special shirts for sale, and every dollar goes directly to his family to help with funeral expenses.

There is a link at the bottom of this post to purchase tickets. Once paid, we’ll reach out to you for shirt sizes — unless you’re able to add that in the memo when purchasing.

We’ll also be serving a drink in his honor — “The BENNY” — and it’ll stay on our menu as long as our doors are open.
